چکیده

In this lecture, we present the mathematical analysis on the average bit error rate for multi-users in a single channel of the spread spectrum, Code Division Multiple Access (SS-CDMA) mobile radio system. We present expressions of BER performance of CDMA systems for a wide range of interference conditions for both synchronous case and asynchronous case, including Gaussian approximations (GA), Improved Gaussian Approximation (IGA), and Simple Improved Gaussian Approximation (SIGA). After the discussion for the single user detection, we discuss the key idea of the multiuser detection in the CDMA systems for high speed data transmission. The rest of the paper is organized as follows: In section II, we present the multiuser CDMA system model. In section III, we discuss the single user detection for the CDMA systems. In section IV, we present in detail the probability of error of the synchronous case with the single user detection for the CDMA systems. In section V, we discuss the probability of error of the asynchronous case with the single user detection for the CDMA systems, including GA, IGA and SIGA algorithms. Finally, in section VI, we discuss the multiuser detection for the CDMA systems.

Performance Evaluation of a Frequency Modulated Spread-spectrum System

Analog frequency modulated (FM) systems offer advantages of reliable speech quality and simplicity, whereas code division multiple access (CDMA) systems promise high capacity, resistance to multipath fading, and simplified frequency planning. In this thesis, we investigate the performance of a wireless local loop (WLL) system that uses the frequency modulation with the CDMA technique. The perfo...

Design of Spread-Spectrum Sequences Using Chaotic Dynamical Systems and Ergodic Theory

A new-design methodology for the design of optimal spread-spectrum sequences for asynchronous code-division multiple acces (A-CDMA) and chip-synchronous CDMA (CS-CDMA) systems is proposed. We derive general results on the partial auto-correlation function of the optimal spreading sequences for CS-CDMA and A-CDMA systems with respect to the minimization of the average bit error rate under the st...

Bit Error Performance for Asynchronous Ds Cdma Systems Over Multipath Rayleigh Fading Channels (RESEARCH NOTE)

In recent years, there has been considerable interest in the use of CDMA in mobile communications. Bit error rate is one of the most important parameters in the evaluation of CDMA systems. In this paper, we develop a technique to find an accurate approximation to the probability of bit error for asynchronous direct–sequence code division multiple–access (DS/CDMA) systems by modeling the multipl...

The technology of Direct Sequence Code Division Multiple Access (DS-CDMA) has been chosen for mobile communication systems because of numerous advantages. A major advantage is that it can provide a better capacity compared to the other possible technologies of multiple access [1]. In a spread spectrum system, the signal bandwidth is increased to a value much larger than is needed to transmit th...
